About Danielle Grant

Danielle Grant, is married to Dave and has 3 children.  Born in Wellington, has lived in Glenfield, North Shore for the last 10 years.

Currently serving as the Deputy Chair on the Auckland Council Local Board, for the area that encompasses the Northcote electorate (known as the Kaipatiki Local Board). Danielle was re-elected in 2016 for a second term and has recently completed the first part of this term as the Chair of the Local Board.

Danielle led the development of the current three-year strategic plan for the Local Board and has been the key spokes person for the significant Rawene Car Park Slip in Birkenhead.  Danielle enjoys a high public profile and is widely known on the North Shore as a strong advocate for residents, local business, sporting, community and environmental groups.

As an experienced business owner, former managing director and corporate communications professional, Danielle brings strong business acumen and marketing expertise to her governance roles. Danielle’s background includes roles as Managing Director of her own mid-sized advertising agency in Wellington and Group Account Director for a large advertising agency in Auckland.

Her community interests include being on the Board of Trustees for Bayview School, board member of Playmarket – the agency for New Zealand Playwrights, and Local Government New Zealand Zone One delegate.

Danielle has special interests in education, environment issues, sport, arts & culture and local government. Danielle is certified as an RMA commissioner.

As a parent she is aware of the needs of local families and the importance of protecting the lifestyle we value. Danielle recognises the significance of building strong and vibrant communities where we all feel safe and welcome.

Outside of work Danielle enjoys sporting activities with her family, walking in our stunning native bush, theatre and the performing arts.
