Keen local photo-snappers entered an annual photo competition in February and March hosted by the Beach Haven Birkdale Resident’s Association.
The competition was open to Kaipātiki residents and featured the theme ‘Life in Beach Haven and Birkdale’.
Judges considered all entries received from four sub-categories:
- Man-made environment
- The natural environment
- Active or action sports or recreation
- Conservation or sustainability
“It’s the fourth year of running the competition, and each year it gets a little bigger and better,” says Beach Haven Birkdale Resident’s Association Member and photo competition organiser Duncan Laidlaw.
“This year we got more entries from our community than previous years, and there were some real standouts which we were delighted to receive and share with OurAuckland,” says Laidlaw.
A free community exhibition showing all submitted images was held on Saturday 24 March at the Beach Haven Residents and Ratepayers Hall. The competition’s winners were announced and awarded at the event.
