Singing, music, cultural pride and prayer were all part of the colour at ceremonies swearing in Auckland Council’s 149 local board members over the past two weeks.
As well as elected members being sworn in to office, these events were a chance for supporters and family to celebrate their loved one’s achievement.
The 21 board also appointed chairs and deputy chairs for the next three years, with several new faces taking the helm. They also set the dates for their first business meetings.
