Resolution for improvements to the concrete path behind the Birkdale Shops:
Auckland Transport are requesting approval of $3,000 for the minor capital works for the laying of concrete to improve the path and to fix the holes behind the Birkdale shops.
The request has come from project engineer, Vukasin Sibinovski, of Auckland Transport.
The need for the work was bought to the attention of Deputy Chair, John Gillon.
Currently contractors are onsite in Birkdale working on the road and path in front of the Birkdale shops.
The path, pictured, is behind the shops, and is on private land.
Auckland Transport are able to concrete the holes and improve the path.
The Auckland Transport Capital Fund would be used to cover this minor capital work. There are significant cost saves at this stage in the project. There are no additional set up costs as the contractors are already onsite, and the contractor has confirmed that the cost of the concrete would be at the same rate as the rest of the work currently being under taken.
To be able to maximize this opportunity to make these minor improvements, Auckland Transport are requesting an urgent response from the Kaipatiki Local Board.
Resolution Request: To approve $3,000 from the Auckland Transport Capital Fund for minor capital works to concrete the path and fix the pot holes at the rear of the shops on Birkdale Road, while the current works are underway in the immediate area.
